"El Rey" Archaeological Site

This archaeological site is worth a visit and is closely situated in the resort area of Cancun . These ruins are a window into the history of Mexico , and are Cancun 's largest archaeological site. Don't miss these Mayan ruins that were wonderfully preserved and incorporated into this major resort complex.

Interactive Aquarium

Amazing opportunities for interaction with wildlife await you here. Each section offers different things. In the open-air section you can touch sea urchins, stingrays, sea turtles and conchs. Another section has an enormous pool where you can swim with dolphins. Still another area has a huge, covered tank where you can feed the sharks in a safe way, locking yourself in a cage with a diving trainer and equipment.

Folkloric Ballet

Take in a show by this famous dance ensemble performing regional dances and music from all over Mexico . Watch as their costumes become a swirl of vivid colors as they vivaciously dance to live Mexican music. These performances are held at the Cancun Convention Center

Bullfights

Cancun has a small bullring in downtown, Plaza de Toros, near the northern end of Boulevard Kukulkan. Bullfights take place every Wednesday at 3:30 pm . A sport introduced to Mexico by the Spanish viceroys, bullfighting is now as much a part of Mexican culture as tequila. Don't miss it!

Water Activities

There are outlets for Waterskiing and sailboats among other water sports on the calm Nichupte Lagoon. The most popular activity of this beautiful lagoon is the Jungle Tour. Ride on a mini-boat for 2 persons through the jungle and then enjoy excellent snorkeling. Many beachside hotels offer water-sports centers that feature rentals for rubber rafts, kayaks, wind-surfing, motorized jets, para-sailing, and snorkeling equipment as well.
